Lawyer Profile
Mr. Sands joined Ogletree Deakins in 1978 as an associate and became a partner in 1984. Throughout his legal career, Mr. Sands has practiced exclusively within the labor and employment field representing management. On a daily basis, Mr. Sands handles litigation matters for employers before state and federal courts as well as administrative agencies, such as the NLRB, the EEOC, and the U.S. Department of Labor. While he has worked with other attorneys in the firm on some of the largest and most complex labor and employment cases in the United States, Mr. Sands spends a significant portion of his time representing medium to small employers on all aspects of labor and employment law.

Mr. Sands has particular expertise in traditional labor law, including the successful handling of numerous union avoidance campaigns over the past 25 years. Additionally, for organized employers, Mr. Sands has served as the chief spokesperson for the negotiation of many collective bargaining agreements and has handled scores of arbitrations.

Mr. Sands is included in the most current edition of The Best Lawyers in America.
