Robert C. Petrulis(Shareholder)Cleveland Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Since beginning the practice of law in 1988, Mr. Petrulis has worked extensively with both private and public employers, large and small, in the resolution of workplace issues and disputes. He has partnered with employers in a wide range of industries, including medical systems and health care, consumer electronics, insurance and financial services, public schools and other public agencies, technology and computers, automotive and aviation, restaurant and hospitality, manufacturing, telecommunications and cable television and environmental services. Mr. Petrulis provides preventative employment law counseling to help employers avoid potential costly and time consuming lawsuits and employment disputes. When employment matters do result in litigation, Mr. Petrulis has vigorously and successfully defended employers in state and federal courts throughout the United States against the full range of employment-related claims, such as discrimination, retaliation, and employment-related Sarbanes-Oxley claims. Mr. Petrulis also has helped companies protect their customer base, trade secrets and valuable human resource assets through successful prosecution of claims against former or current employees (and/or their new employers) who have violated non-competition, non-solicitation, and confidentiality agreements, or who have misappropriated or disclosed trade secrets. In 2001, Mr. Petrulis was one of the first attorneys in Ohio to be certified as a 'specialist" in Employment and Labor Law by the Ohio State Bar Association. In 2007, was among first attorneys to be recertified. Mr. Petrulis was first elected a ”Super Lawyer” in Ohio in 2004. He has also received a Peer Review rating of "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell, the highest rating designation conferred. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins as a shareholder, Mr. Petrulis was a Partner in the employment law group of a national law firm based in Cleveland, where he began his career in 1988.
