David E. Jones(Shareholder)Atlanta Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Mr. Jones heads Ogletree Deakins' Occupational Safety and Health Client Services Group. He engages in a nationwide practice that includes the representation of employers in "egregious," "enhanced enforcement," and other significant federal OSHA and state plan litigation and enforcement actions. Mr. Jones provides a number of other safety-related services for clients, including: Effective handling of OSHA inspections Mr. Jones also engages in select labor and employment special projects, including: managing employment litigation; investigating and negotiating pre-litigation resolution of employment claims; conducting labor and employment audits and due diligence examinations; and helping clients achieve labor relations objectives. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Mr. Jones served as a presidential appointee, holding the post of Legal Counsel and Special Advisor to the Chairman at the Occupational Safety and Health Review Commission in Washington, D.C. Earlier in his career, he served as a trial attorney in the Office of the Solicitor, U.S. Department of Labor. Among his many professional activities and accomplishments, Mr. Jones is an active member, currently serving as Employer Co-Chair, of the Occupational Safety and Health Law Committee of the American Bar Association; he served as a Chapter Author of the 2004 Supplement to the American Bar Association treatise on Occupational Safety and Health Law; he authored the rulemaking comments of the Society for Human Resource Management on the proposed OSHA Ergonomics Program Standard; he is a member of the OSHA Subcommittee of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Labor Relations Committee; he serves on Ogletree Deakins' Client Services Committee, and he served as the Founding Chair of the firm's Diversity Committee.
