Herbert E. Gerson(Partner)Ford & Harrison, LLP Lawyer Profile Herb Gerson was born in Atlanta and earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Emory University. Since moving to Memphis in 1973, Herb has represented management in all areas related to traditional labor and employment issues. Much of his practice is devoted to counseling clients to avoid employment discrimination claims and to develop a positive work environment. Herb is listed in The Best Lawyers in America, has written numerous articles on labor and employment matters, and co-chairs the Labor and Employment Committee of the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. He also is editor of the Tennessee Employers Desk Manual and the national version of the same publication. Herb is past president of Beth Shalom Synagogue, a board member of the Memphis Jewish Home, and a graduate of Leadership Memphis. He serves on the labor and employment subcommittees of the Tennessee Bankers Association and the Tennessee Association for Services and Homes for the Aged. He also is a member of the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers.
