Bethany Brantley Johnson, AV-rated by Martindale Hubbell, has actively represented management in employment litigation, general advice and traditional labor relations matters throughout Louisiana and Mississippi for more than a decade.  She has represented clients in numerous employment claims before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, Department of Labor and other state and federal agencies.  In addition, Ms. Johnson represents clients before the National Labor Relations Board and assists clients with union avoidance programs, union campaigns and elections, and decertification issues. 

Bethany has successfully litigated cases in state and federal courts throughout the country, including Mississippi, Louisiana, Indiana, Tennessee, Florida, Texas and Alabama.  Recent matters she has handled include compelling enforcement of binding arbitration agreements, wrongful termination and retaliation claims, defending ADA claims asserted by the EEOC, and FLSA collective action litigation involving multiple plaintiffs.  Some of her recent successes are reported in Oby v. Baton Rouge Marriott, 329 F.Supp.2d 772 (M.D. La. 2004) (FMLA); Maples v. Continental Cas. Co., 2006 WL 839544 (S.D. Miss. 2006) (ERISA); Davis v. NPC Pizza Hut, 447 F.Supp.2d 1260 (N.D. Ala. 2006) (Title VII); and E.E.O.C. v. Agro Distribution, LLC, 2007 WL 1031649 (S.D. Miss. 2007) (ADA).  

Ms. Johnson also conducts training for clients on various employment and human resources issues, and frequently lectures on employment topics, including recent presentations and publications on ?Payroll Management,? ?What You Need to Know about the Fair Labor Standards Act,? and ?Employment Law from A ? Z.? Ms. Johnson co-authored "An Overview of Employment Class Actions" in The Practical Litigator (July 2003).
