Sara E. Hutchins(Associate)Cleveland Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Ms. Hutchins received her Bachelor of Arts degree from The Ohio State University in 2000 in history, psychology and political science. She received her law degree cum laude from Capital University Law School where she was a member of the Order to the Curia. While in law school Ms. Hutchins received the Presidential Merit Scholarship from 2000-2003, the Judith B. Stevenson Memorial Scholarship for excellence in litigation and the CALI award in litigation. In addition, she was a teaching assistant to Professor Dennis Hirsh in property law, was a member of the Capital Law School mock trial team and participated in the Capital University Litigation Clinic. Prior to joining Ogletree Deakins, Ms. Hutchins was an attorney within the litigation group at Squire, Sanders & Dempsey L.L.P., at that firm's headquarter office in Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Hutchins was a member of a national counsel team to a subsidiary of an international food company defending against claims pending in multiple state and federal jurisdictions. She also successfully defended the State of Ohio Department of Taxation and three of its officers against civil rights violation claims. Ms. Hutchins has successfully represented various manufacturers in defending product liability lawsuits, and she successfully resolved a claim against a large computer company in a claim for misappropriation of trade secrets. Her work also included successfully defending a shareholder's motion for a temporary restraining order and a preliminary injunction. Ms. Hutchins also served as local counsel for a national credit reporting company in cases pending in northeast Ohio. Prior to joining Squire Sanders & Dempsey, Ms. Hutchins served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Nancy A. Fuerst and Eileen A. Gallagher with the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Ms. Hutchins volunteers for the Cleveland Bar Association's 3R's program, where she teaches social studies and government to high school students to help prepare them for their high school proficiency tests.
