Mr. Garwood is board certified as a specialist in Labor and Employment Law. Mr. Garwood graduated from Florida State University (B.A., with Honors, 1965), and from Stetson University School of Law (J.D., 1971).

Mr. Garwood has served in the following roles: General Counsel to Employers Association of Florida, Inc., 1982-; General Counsel to Orlando/Orange County Convention Visitors Bureau, 1984-; General Counsel to Florida Tourism Association, 1990-1995; General Counsel to Florida Roofers, Sheet Metal Association, 1984-; member: Board of Directors, Goodwill Industries of Central Florida, Inc.; member: Advisory Council, Center for Labor Management Dispute Resolution, 1983-1998; President, Industrial Relations Research Association of Central Florida, 1982-1984; Counsel to City of Orlando Civil Service Board, 1973-1984; member: Academy of Florida Management Attorneys, 1998-.

Mr. Garwood has received the following recognitions and/or honors: selected for inclusion in Leading Florida Attorneys since its inception in 1996; selected for inclusion in Best Lawyers in America (Florida/Labor & Employment Law) since 1984; selected for inclusion in An International Who’s Who of Management Labor & Employment Lawyers since 1999; inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) with the rank of "Associate" in 1997; elected and inducted as Fellow in National College of Labor and Employment Law in 1997.
