John B. Flood(Associate)Washington Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Mr. Flood is an experienced litigator who served for twelve years in the Air Force Judge Advocate General's Corps. During his Air Force career, Mr. Flood gained extensive litigation experience while prosecuting and defending over 60 criminal cases before military judges and juries. After serving for two years as a base level trial defense counsel, Mr. Flood was selected to serve as one of only nineteen Air Force circuit defense attorneys. He was first chair defense counsel in numerous complex criminal judge and jury trials in Hawaii, Guam, Korea, and Japan. Mr. Flood worked in two different positions for the Air Force as a labor and employment lawyer. He defended the Air Force against unfair labor practice charges and complaints before the Federal Labor Relations Authority. He also defended the Air Force in civilian disciplinary appeals before the U.S. Merit Systems Protection Board, and discrimination and reprisal complaints before the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. Mr. Flood advised Air Force managers at numerous bases on a wide variety of labor and employment law issues. Most recently, Mr. Flood held the position of supervisory labor and employment law attorney at Tinker Air Force Base, Oklahoma. The base is the Air Force's largest civilian employment site with over 12,000 non-military employees. Mr. Flood resigned from the Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge in 2005 at the rank of Major, to enter full-time private law practice with Ogletree Deakins. In addition to being a management side advocate, Mr. Flood is also an experienced mediator who mediates cases of discrimination and other types of disputes with the Washington, D.C. Office of Human Rights and other organizations.
