Thomas F. Ellis(Of Counsel)Raleigh Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Tom Ellis has more than 50 years of experience representing business and as a leader in the public policy arena. He continues to be active in the Republican Party on the local, state, and national levels. Prior to entering into private practice, Mr. Ellis was Assistant U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of North Carolina. He has served as Special Counsel, Governor's Advisory Committee on Education, 1955-1956; President, 10th Judicial District, 1960; Chairman, U.S. Condemnation Commissions, Eastern District of North Carolina, 1963-1966; and is a permanent member of the Fourth Circuit Judicial Conference. Mr. Ellis has tried over 100 jury trials. His distinguished record in public service includes managing the campaigns for many successful statewide candidates, including U.S. Senators Jesse Helms, John East, and Lauch Faircloth. Mr. Ellis also served as the North Carolina State Chair for the 1976 Ronald Reagan for President campaign. He has also served as Board Chair of the St. Timothy's-Hale School and as a member of the UNC Board of Public Broadcasting.
