Herbert C. Ehrhardt(Shareholder)Ridgeland (Jackson) Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile Mr. Ehrhardt has represented management in labor and employment relations for over 30 years. His experience includes handling NLRB elections, contract negotiations, and unfair labor practice proceedings. Mr. Ehrhardt has extensive litigation experience, and has served as lead counsel in cases throughout the country, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Texas. He has defended employers in cases arising under Title VII, state fair employment practices statutes, the Equal Pay Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and the Family and Medical Leave Act. Mr. Ehrhardt has also served as lead counsel on numerous class actions, including FLSA collective actions. Additionally, Mr. Ehrhardt has defended employers in numerous state law actions in Mississippi and elsewhere, alleging wrongful discharge, defamation, bad faith denial of workers? compensation claims, negligent hiring and supervision, conversion of trade secrets, and intentional infliction of emotional distress. In cases involving emotional distress, Mr. Ehrhardt regularly works with forensic psychiatrists; he regularly assists employers in evaluation and defense of claims for emotional distress and he has written and lectured on the use of forensic psychiatry in defense of emotional distress claims. In addition to his very active litigation practice, Mr. Ehrhardt regularly counsels employers on hiring, compensation, discipline, termination, mergers and acquisitions, reductions in force, plant closures, covenants not to compete, protection of confidential information and trade secrets, arbitration agreements, designing employment and compensation policies, and drafting employee handbooks. He also has substantial experience in affirmative action compliance and has handled numerous OFCCP audits, including headquarters and glass ceiling audits. Mr. Ehrhardt is AV rated and has been recognized in every edition of Best Lawyers in America since 2000.
