Mr. Eckard attended law school at the University of South Carolina School of Law, where he was an Editor on the Board of Editors for the South Carolina Law Review. Mr. Eckard is a former Law Clerk for the United States Department of Justice ? Civil Division, Washington D.C. Mr. Eckard is also the 2005 recipient of the University of South Carolina Law School's coveted Knox L. Haynsworth Labor Law Scholarship Award.

Prior to his legal career, Mr. Eckard served in the United States Army, specializing in Military Intelligence. Mr. Eckard served in multiple duty stations, including operational tours in Kuwait. Mr. Eckard is also a licensed pilot and enjoys flying airplanes for recreation.
