Carmen J. DiMaria(Shareholder)Morristown Employment Lawyer Lawyer Profile In the complex, ever-changing arena of employer-employee relations and personnel issues, employers are vulnerable to claims of wrongful termination, employment discrimination and harassment, including sexual harassment, and whistleblower retaliation. Mr. DiMaria defends employers and individual defendants against these and other employment-related claims in both federal and state courts and before administrative agencies. Companies also are often faced with sensitive issues when key personnel terminate employment, particularly when an individual had been privy to confidential information or is joining a competitor. Mr. DiMaria prosecutes and defends cases involving post-employment restrictions, including cases involving restrictive covenants, misappropriation of confidential information and trade secrets, breaches of employee loyalty, and claims of employee piracy. He also works to help employers prevent litigation before it occurs by regularly counseling management regarding compliance with all labor and employment laws. , Mr. DiMaria was a law clerk to the Honorable John E. Keefe, New Jersey Superior Court, Appellate Division, from 1993 through 1994. Prior to embarking on a law career, he worked as an auditor for the national accounting firm of Ernst & Young. A shareholder with the firm, Carmen has practiced in the area of labor and employment law and litigation throughout his legal career, and has been recognized as a Super Lawyer in the area of employment litigation. He is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section, the American Bar Association's Labor and Employment Section, and the Union County Bar Association. He was a member of the Sidney Reitman Employment Law American Inn of Court from 1995 to 1999.
