Lawyer Profile
David Comeaux is a shareholder and practices in the area of employment law and litigation. He represents management in the full range of issues related to the employment relationship and has represented clients in numerous cases involving sex, race, age and disability discrimination claims, as well as wage and hour, tort and retaliation matters.

Mr. Comeaux also assists clients in identifying and managing risks that arise in the workplace.  He has been involved in the creation and review of employment policies and handbooks, and consults with employers regarding employee rights and benefits and employer obligations and policies.

He advises clients on arbitration programs and has successfully defended the enforceability of employment arbitration agreements in trial and appellate courts.  He also represents clients in matters involving covenants not to compete in the employment context. 

In addition to his employment practice, Mr. Comeaux has represented clients in the defense of personal injury matters and in commercial cases, mainly representing clients in the hotel and restaurant industries.  He is an active member of the Hospitality Industry Liaison Subcommittee of the American Bar Association, and speaks regularly on employment law issues at local and national industry events.

Mr. Comeaux practiced in Ogletree Deakins' office in St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands before returning to Houston.  Before entering private practice, Mr. Comeaux served as a law clerk to Hon. John D. Rainey, United States District Court for the Southern District of Texas.
